Liberty Activist, Singer-Song Writer, Pop Culture, and Current Events ...
That is what my bio says at least.. My name is Michael Anderson! I was born in a small town in Central Arkansas named Conway. I went to three different high schools in three different states. Arkansas, New Jersey, and then Texas.
I have been singing for as long as I can remember and I began playing the guitar in middle school. Throughout high school, I was singing in rock bands, musicals, choirs, and with friends from every state I lived. It was also in high school where I was drawn into the Liberty Movement for the very first time by Ron Paul. After going to two bands in New Jersey and in Arkansas, I started working with a group of musicians once I moved to Houston. When I came to Houston I began experimenting in hip-hop, rap, and reggae influences due to our music producer, Soulcist.
In 2015 I dropped Until Further Notice, a free mixtape of remixes, covers, and a few originals (Music from my mixtape, acoustic covers, and other original content will be shared soon.) However, soon after I dropped my first mixtape our music group ended up breaking up. I began to study History at the University of Houston and it wasn't long before I started an independent study about the Student lead Civil Rights Movement in Houston (More content I intend to share with you).
After doing research on such an important and significant topic, I was inspired to start up my own community activism. I restarted the Young American's for Liberty chapter at the University of Houston. Before we even got on campus we partnered with BLACKLIVESMATTER and got body camera reform policy in the city of Houston. After leading the largest and fastest growing YAL chapter in the state of Texas for six months I was offered the job of Texas State Chair by YAL National. After I became the Texas State Chair, I was invited on Houston's local Fox News Station with Isiah Carey due to Free Speech activism at UH. Since taking the job offer I can say that I am living a dream job and I hope I can find something similar once I graduate college. Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) has given me the opportunity to live my dreams over the last two years in a way I can only hope to share with you in my future blog posts. We have hosted Adam Kokesh many times to speak in Houston and we also have worked closely with Kory Watkin and his cannabis efforts in Texas. This past April YAL National had their Spring Summit at the University of Houston where Ron Paul as the keynote speaker.
It is actually due to Kory Watkins himself that I am in the cannabis movement today. If it weren't for Kory Watkins running for Governor I might not have ever gone to a Houston NORML meeting and never met Latonya Whittington (NORML = national organization to reform marijuana laws). Latonya was the Communications Director of Houston NORML last year and I was one of their top activists for the next six month. Latonya and I even appeared on Houston's Fox News Station with Isiah Carey again about our activism in the Houston area. As of January 2018, LaTonya is the new Executive Director of Houston NORML and I am the new Communication Director of Houston NORML.

Now to the reasons I'm on this website!
I've been following Adam Kokesh for a while now and when he came to Houston for the Texas State Libertarian Convention we ended up hanging out. Adam actually invited YAL and Houston NORML out to his place for a nice get together before the convention. We even got the chance to speak about Steemit because I saw that @KoryManx and @AdamKokesh were both using the platform and I really liked the layout of the site. Before I knew it @BenSwann had also moved over to Steemit and DTude along with his company @TruthinMedia.
Now-a-days I'm still Texas State Chair of YAL, Communications Director of Houston NORML, and attending college at the University of Houston. I'm also attempting to produce new music and other media content about music, politics, pop culture, and current events! Which is one of the reasons why I am now on Steemit!
