My name is Mohit and I’m from India. I signed up for Steemit 3 days ago and have been researching blogs, content and the community here. Completely floored and still reeling with excitement!

How I came across Steemit :
I heard about a cryptocurrency called bitcoin last year but dismissed it as just another new technology. I was working with a multinational bank and had a full time job. However, I lost my job in January '2017. During a get together last month, bitcoin was mentioned by a friend and I thought of checking about it again. It blew my mind as it had gone from 700 something to around 2000 USD.
During my research about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, I came across Steem, and thank God I did. Steemit has the power to change the life for billions of people, for better. If used correctly, it can potentially be bigger than Facebook, Reditt and Quora combined.

Fun facts about me :
2. I am an avid reader and love to read across various genres, though prefer non-fiction over fiction. My favourite writer is Paulo Coelho.
3. I have never played Angry Birds, or Candy Crush, or Pokemon GO, or whatever. And I've no idea about how it looks or what it means to others.
4. Bit of an insomniac. The owl hours (12-4AM) are my favourite slot on the clock.
5. I hate all those ceremonies, parties, rituals etc, unless you do it for yourself and not to show-off or to please others.
I have only written on Facebook, Twitter one liners and my personal diary. Therefore, it would be a completely new journey for me to take an attempt at long form writing. To tell you truth, I've no idea what this thing would turn out to be, but I have positive intuitions about it.
