My name is Alexis, originally from the UK and my steemit alias is PeixeBoi which is a manatee in Brazilian Portuguese. I love the way it is pronounced, how they look, behave and interact. A bit random, silly and fun which is kind of how I roll.
This is me in 'real life' while exploring the amazon rainforest in Brazil! I love the rainforest and could easily spend some time living in it!
I love technology, adventure, travelling, sports (kite surfing and cycling), meeting new people and psychology (specifically cults/mind control). My background is in the distribution of communications hardware (specialising in opensource), having founded two separate companies, one distributing VoIP hardware and the other Wireless hardware. I am now looking at doing something new and my primary interests are in crypto/blockchain and sustainable/eco living.
I have dived deep down this blockchain rabbit hole and am interested in everything crypto including trading and investing but particularly in the underlying technology and how it will revolutionise the world in a similar but perhaps more profound way as the internet has. I am currently living in Lisbon, Portugal, and absolutely love this city and country. I have found that there is a thriving crypto community and there are quite a few possibilities when it comes to sustainable/eco living.
Two months ago I started Lisbon's first meetup solely dedicated to crypto investing/trading and discussing blockchain(s) commercial opportunities. We are close to 200 members and have meetups every 2 weeks with roughly 15 to 20 (and growing) people attending. Feel free to sign up if you are in the area:

I just got back from Steemit's conference in Lisbon, Steemfest and despite not really having a great appreciation for how steemit works I completely enjoyed it and met some awesome people. @roelandp did a fantastic job and really does deserve a standing ovation!
So this is my first post and I look forward to understanding how steemit works and more importantly sharing some cool stuff while interacting with you all.
