My background and intentions
I joined the platform after I learned about it from @sempervideo (I’m a big fan for years…) and made some further reading on the topic. I was really fond of the principle and wanted to try it myself. So I applied (yes it took some days) and was approved after 4 or 5 days. I was jumping in and here I am now. I won’t repeat what I said in my introduction, but here’s the link to it for those who haven’t read it (like most of you):

Before steemit I had no Facebook or Twitter, Snapchat or Instagram because I don’t like to be treated as consumer only.
My activities so far
I posted pictures I took during the recent years with my smartphone on my trips and from my pets and participated with some in @juliank’s photocontest. I also participated in @joe.backpacker’s German poetryslam contest (#de-poetryslam), where I earned some followers and probably one of the honorable last places. I joined some discord groups and had some chitchat there. I voted for some witnesses. I don’t understand everything yet, but I get along. I LMAO in dmania and DTube and in a discord chatroom in a discussion on Tupperware- …
My impressions
This thing steemit is actually what I was hoping for. It’s fun, it has great users, it is easy to use, you get feedback (well… most of the time, often, ok not for you bad stuff). Somehow it feels like the Internet in the late nineties, only the experts and devoted run the show, no bombardments by commercials and advertisers. There are many blogs praising the platform, and I can only fully agree to that. You really notice that this platform is just at the beginning, because many new members join every day and the number three hashtag is #introduceyourself. Everybody is keen to bring the thing forward.
Hopes and outlook
I hope this feeling to be part of something new and good continues to grow. I have some ideas on how I could contribute to the German community and would like to discuss those (e.g. for a regular statistics report on the German steemians activities, the Chinese fellows have something like that, which I think is good). I want to improve my writing skills and invite my followers to be my criticists.
In any case, I will be around for a while and I am looking forward to get to know you all better
And if you made it this far: I won’t ask you now to upvote, comment, resteem, because I learned this is a no go :).
See you around and keep on steemin’!
