So yeah, there I was, a die-hard investor and saver in government currency (South African Rands in my case), taking a leap into the world of cryptocurrencies and feeling somewhat at sea. It’s like someone saying forget everything you’ve learnt about money. Tear it all up and rewire your brain completely so you can get your head around crypto. Not easy I tell you. Old dog, new tricks.
Then I find Steemit and I’m thinking, oh boy, here we go again – forget everything you’ve learnt about Facebook, Twitter, etc, tear it all up and rewire your brain completely so you can get your head around a NEW type of social media. I am now feeling like a very old dog and the tricks keep changing.
But hey, I’m proud of myself for getting a toe in the water. I’ve got a long hike up the mountain ahead of me without a map, but it feels good to start the adventure! Looking forward to hearing more from you all, my fellow adventurers!
A little background: I’m married and I have two sons aged 11 and 13, and I wonder what the world of finance will look like when they’re older. For a living I freelance as a business copywriter and editor. I specialise in financial services. This means that I spend a lot of time writing very conventionally about how to save for retirement/maximise your investments/choose the right annuity for your needs. All the traditional stuff. And I wonder what personal finance content will look like in 20 years’ time? Lots to ponder. This is why I’m ‘pondering’.
