First of all I would like to introduce myself before sharing interesting content.
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Sharon, I'm a Best Selling Author, Artist and Art Promoter from the United States. Since the early 2000's I've been on the Internet doing various things. I started with two blogs which combined had 500,000 views a month. I was creating content pretty much everyday, it's my passion. Then I also started marketing, interviewing {recording artists, fine artists, actors, writers, authors, etc.} I also was promoting others careers since I had worked in corporate America in marketing and found it easy. I started an Art Promotion page back a few years ago on Facebook which has grown tremendously over the years which has almost 6,000 members now. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1499031763700734/
How I got started?
My writing career started with blogging. Later I became a best selling author of several books in 2015. Now I promote mostly fine artist. I intended to let others take a part in my passion for art by posting a regular special post "Artist of the Month" and creating interesting content daily.
Why are you here?
A few weeks ago my agent @Pandamama started tagging me in all of these posts on social media. She was asking where I was and she needed to speak with me ASAP. She wanted to call me, etc. To make a long story short, she has @Steemit fever now I can see what the excitement is about! The magical world of where you can do what you LOVE and be rewarded for it!!!! OMG! This is a goldmine for someone like me.... who LOVES to write!!!! She was asking me, if I knew about the platform Steemit? Had I heard about it? Did I understand the new currency? Until then I never even heard of Steemit even though I consider myself pretty savvy about the net. Lordy, the Metronews in Canada named me one of the savviest Internet moms after all. I should know about this platform, right? I started to inform myself about how this works by watching YouTube and talking with my agent @PandaMama learning the ropes.
I must say - @Steemit seems very interesting and most of all ... a very positive place which is amazing!!! A nice change of pace. A place to get your feet wet with the new currency and learn about getting paid to be YOU! That is a change. A new way of going about being yourself and doing what you love while getting paid! Unheard of! Why not give it a try???? Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.
There are so many people out there who may of been inspired by my books. Or the projects I've been part of Tourette Syndrome Awareness, Empowered Woman Magazine, Artist Chat or Art Promotion, the list goes on and on. I'm a classic workaholic in a way. Or they are interested in the magazine articles I've written or interviews about my personal life story of coming from an inner-city environment (without a father) and educating myself. It seems like with many of my interviews they focus on my accomplishments over ....who I am as a person. I hope with Steemit I can share that too.
My life has been one of those lives were at any point I could of stopped and given up, but I did not and wouldn't. My interactions on social media are all about helping others and giving to others. That's why I LOVE Steemit too. How people who have a true passion, they are rewarded for their time and effort! I've found doing the opposite of the conventional way (selling/pushing) has worked for me in life and in my career. Being nice is not dead. Caring about others is key to success and kindness is not optional. When everyone wants to sell you something or take advantage of others in this world. I've chosen to give, give, give....this has been always my secret weapon in life.
What kind of things do you like to post?
Like my Facebook , Twitter and Instagram, I plan to post on art and artist stories a good bit. Then some on healthy living/food and a bit of inspiration mixed in here and there. I'll share interesting healthy food or recipes I create and some motivational posts now and then too. My topics may vary like my life from time to time.
So yeah, I will keep you updated on my Steemit adventure.
