My name is Tate. Right now, I'm professionally homeless. I live in a Van, spending the majority of my nights at Wal-Marts or wherever I can park overnight, across the US (maybe someday elsewhere in the world). I feel that I can honestly claim the title "Profesional Dirtbag" because I have a job and make money on the road, but don't have a permanent home. My main activity, outlet, and sense of purpose in life has been found in Climbing, which I have been doing for the past 9 years. I have done my best to live in a way that enables me to do that as much as possible, while not sacrificing goals professionally. I found a job that works well for traveling the country, and has a schedule that I designate.
A recent climbing adventure in which I solo'd El Capitan in Yosemite Valley. Check out my write up on the whole journey on my blog here TateShepherd.com Quest Log
This is the van I live in. I moved in January 2017, got rid of my apartment, and have been traveling around the Western US, climbing and working simultaneously as much as possible. In the 6 months that I have been leading this life on the road I have logged over 20K miles
Recently I have become very interested in Blockchain, which has lead me to Steem. I am still new to all the opportunities within this area, but I find it fascinating and have been researching it obsessively for some time now. Looking forward to seeing the development of this platform specifically, but also all the potential in Blockchain technology in general.
In order to document my travels, I have been learning more about photography and blogging.
Follow me here on Steemit and also on my Blog, to see where the road take me!
