Hello from Seoul! This is my first (English) blog entry on Steemit.
To give a brief introduction of myself, My name is Evan Lee (이윤재). I major in English Linguistics and Language Technology at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, beginning this year. I used to study English Pedagogy to be trained as a secondary school English teacher, until I decided to change schools in the face of recent birth rate nosedive in South Korea as well as the remarkable breakthroughs in machine translation. I'm currently looking to double major in Software Convergence with a sort of belated (but quite keen) interest in dApp and natural language processing. Also, I'd like to define myself as a would-be polyglot who is now learning English, Japanese, Chinese, French and Esperanto.
My first language is Korean, but I will contribute diligently in English whenever time permits, to reach a wider international readership. With all due respect, however, I cannot guarantee daily updates here; it's quite frustrating to juggle between school and part-time jobs, and writing in English is still a challenge for a non-native speaker like me.
I will cover the following topics. Stay tuned for my:
- Study notes on blockchain-related materials
- Reviews of movies, books, ethnic food restaurants, or newly-purchased electronic gadgets
- Language technology terminology - made easy
- Information on Esperanto and its Pasporta Servo (the hospitality service for Esperanto speakers)
- Life in Korea as a native Seoulite
- Short stories, essays, or comic strips (hopefully)
- And many more!
Thank you so much for reading my first blog entry. I will catch you later!
