Fate / stay night - Unlimited Blade Works
is a wide-screen animated film that adapts the Tohsaka Rin route, from the famous novel / visual novel, Fate / stay night.
Released early in 2010 by Fate-UBW Project committee, with animation produced by Studio DEEN, this movie embodies fans' expectation to see UBW route in the form of animation.

The beginning of UBW tells the beginning of the involvement of the main character, the helpful young man, Emiya Shirou, in the Holy Grail War competition held in his hometown of Fuyuki.
Seven of the chosen magicians called 'Masters' will begin killing each other, after the seven magicians succeed in summoning some kind of legendary hero spirit called 'Servant'. Servants will essentially be used as familiar and become the main factor of their strength. The last remaining Master-Servant pairs will win the Holy Grail's magic artifact, which is said to potentially grant any request requested by the couple who won it.
One night, Shirou accidentally witnessed the ongoing fight between Servant Lancer and Servant Archer.
Due to the rule that no eyewitnesses should be allowed to live, Lancer's target switches to Shirou, and Shirou soon becomes a victim of Gae Bolg's spear force that Lancer has.
Feeling responsible for his involvement, and encouraged by his deep feelings, Tohsaka Rin, Shirou's schoolmate who turns out to be the Master of the Archer, boldly breaks the rules to try to save his life. Using the rest of the magical crystal power, which he had previously used as a catalyst to summon Archer, Rin managed to save Shirou's life. But Rin's actions dragged Shirou into a life-and-death comeback that changed her life forever.
