The concept of Hive communities-- and the niches they facilitate-- took a while to really dawn on me. I mean, I knew they were popping up and they brought with them various new styles and tokens... but I didn't quite grasp the utility of it all.
Until Now...
Hello, #CTP Community!
I see you now, and I understand that you're here for a specific reason: marketing and entrepreneurship. You are a group of resourceful, like-minded individuals who have found a place that lets them have targeted discussions without all the peripheral, unrelated noise found elsewhere online.
So we have the #ClickTrackProfit community for affiliates, marketers and entrepreneurs... and we have Leo Finance for tech and crypto-related content... and we have 3Speak for video creators. And so on, and so forth.
It's a beautiful thing.
But why is CTP such a revelation to me?
Well, it's because not everything I write about is going to be about tech or crypto. Actually, I was an entrepreneur and marketer well before I discovered anything blockchain-related... so it would be fair to say I'm better suited to CTP.
But I love both of them... that's my point! These different communities exist to foster genuine interactions and relationships among specific #tribes-- groups of people with similar interests and goals. I think it's also important to make a few decisions and commit to them though... if you try to do everything, you'll spread yourself too thin and make very little progress on any one platform.
So I've made my Hive ecosystem choices!
I can only multitask to a certain point before I get overwhelmed and drop everything, so I know I need to isolate a few of these Hive platforms and make an honest effort. And it didn't take long to settle on CTP and LeoFinance.
That doesn't mean I won't consider other platforms and communities down the road, but I want to build a foundation first-- both with solid content and with decent nest-eggs staked for curation.
The idea of "spreading myself too thin" is not so much about my finite time and energy, and attention span-- although these are a constant barrier for all of us-- but moreso about focusing on a smaller number of tokens and maximizing the curation rewards system.
Think of it like this: every Hive Engine token you stake becomes a piece of your curation rewards pie. The more slices into which you divide the pie, the less each slice will earn. So if you stake six different tokens, they each get an equal piece of the curation reward.
There is a way to change this using the vote weight multipliers-- so you can adjust the weight of each staked token based on where you're most active-- but I still have questions about how to set this all up ideally (which will likely be the topic of at least one future post) AND you're still dividing your curation rewards among several tokens... so it doesn't entirely solve the problem.
Another problem I'm having is finding curators for the different platforms. I want to write a separate post about curation and delegation, but maybe I'll ask now just to get it out there:
Are there any good curators that you recommend here on CTP? I want to delegate half of my Hive Power to a CTP curator, and the other half to a LeoFinance curator. Let me know in the comments, and I'll be sure to include your suggestions in my future related content.
So, umm... it's nice to meet you!
Can you believe that was supposed to be a short introduction post?! Give it time... you'll quickly realize I can turn a morning salutation into an hour-long introspective discussion about mortality and meaning. In other words, I never shut the fuck up.
But let's digress together, shall we?
I'm happy as a pig in poop to have found my way here, and I can't wait to start applying myself now that I have a better understanding of the Hive ecosystem. I'm even trying to teach my ten-year-old daughter as I learn about these things, so she's ready to kick ass in the near future.
Because goals are important, you know?
That's why I'm here: to make the acquaintance of my new #tribe, and to take one small step towards achieving my own goals. I hope everyone is off to a better start this year. Cheers.
