Hello, Hive community!
I am Irish Michelle B. Cagaoan, but I want you to call me Soulscript, here on Hive. I am a native of Gonzaga, Cagayan Valley in the Philippines, a place rich in culture and a home to many people. As I go on with my Hive journey, I will share you a bit of my place with you.
I am a college teacher teaching language, grammar and communication courses. I also handle arts and other general education course. Aside from my passion in writing, I also love arts and crafts. When I am not inside the classroom, I spend my free time dong and creating crafts, be it a decoration for the office, project of my kids in school or others, I do it with passion and creativity. It is my way of expressing myself, relaxing, and showing my skills. I am very much flattered when my colleagues would admire and praise me of my outputs.
At first, I was hesitant to join since I was half hearted if it legit or not and there were many rules which made me overwhelmed. Ms. Antonette guided me and encouraged me to join; she explained everything which made me join eventually.
Why I joined hive?
I joined Hive because I want to rekindle my passion for writing. Back when I was in college, used to write essays, articles, short stories, and poems. When I graduated, I was called to work though I was still reviewing for my board examination. Life went busy and I have to set aside my writing. I still write though, but no longer an expression of myself, but researches, manuscripts, letters, reports and other office documents. I believe Hive offers a platform where I can share my thoughts and ideas about life, my experiences, and my realizations.
I want to be a part of a community where I can express myself again, where I can learn from and connect with other people who I share the same passion.
You can expect to read posts from me about my family, parenting, work, culture and others. I would love to share you my experiences as a teacher, challenges and joys of being a parent and some reflections about life.
What I have learned about Hive’s Rules?
During the training, I learned that Hive values originality and honesty. They do not care about how good you are in writing; they care about the authenticity of the article. They appreciate much if the writer did the writing without any aid of AI. Photos must be original. These must be taken by the writer and not grabbed from anyone or from the social media; if edited in Canva or other platforms, include it in the credit.
I appreciate Hive giving importance to authentic content and I am very much excited to be a part of the community.
