I had a great afternoon at the Internet of Agreements conference. It goes on over the whole weekend, but I won't get to the rest of it. I sat in on discussions of new forms of social media and on whether we still need companies. There were some very smart people there who are keen to change the world with blockchain and other technologies. What they weren't talking about was making money (that I heard).
It was a great mix of people from around the world. I didn't even understand some of the terms they were using. After a couple of sessions @lloyddavis gathered everyone in a big circle to talk about what we had learned from the day. The pink cube is a wireless microphone he could toss to people. I got to meet musician Imogen Heap who has been working with blockchain for musicians for a while.
I came away with some mementos of my visit. I didn't really have a chance to sell the idea of Steemit, but Lloyd at least made people aware of it and one of the other organisers retweeted my tweet that links to my post to his 19000 followers.
I had a while before I could catch a train, so I took a trip to Denmark Street, where the music shops are. It's looking a little sad as some of them have closed. The internet can undercut them these days. I did my bit by buying a new ukulele. It's only a cheap one, but it's a little bigger than the one my daughter took off to university. I plan to bring it to Steemfest.
It was a long day, but a happy one. London is always so busy and I'm glad I don't have to go in every day to work. I did for a while a few years back.
Steem on!
I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
