The Apple App Store appears to have had significant success during the third quarter, especially compared to Google's PlayStation. According to the Sensor Tower, over the month July through September, App Store has earned $ 12 billion in revenue. That figure is not only 23.3% of the third quarter earnings in 2017, but also a remarkable difference with Google's $ 6.2 billion revenue in the same period. Of course, the situation for the PlayStation is not so bad, with a $ 6.2 billion increase in revenue, a 21.5% increase from the third quarter of 2017.
A total of $ 18.2 billion in total income resulted in a 22.7% increase in revenue, compared to a total revenue of $ 14.8 billion in the third quarter of 2017. Android and iOS shipped over the same period, up 10.9 percent to 27.1 billion downloads worldwide, a significant increase from 24.4 billion downloads last year. Thanks to the increased availability of Android mobile phones in developing countries, Google Play's download statistics are as high as $ 19.5 billion, which is almost three times more than the 7.6 billion iOS update.
