So much slander has been levelled against Poland that Jews have been convinced that the Polish people are almost as guilty as NAZI Germany. This view couldn’t be more wrong, Poles were victims of NAZI Germany just like Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, the Mentally Handicapped, Jehovah’s Witness’s, Slavs of various stripes(Special shout out to the heroism of the Serbs) and perhaps forgivably Communists.
There is no evidence to demonstrate that the majority or even an appreciable percentage of Poles collaborated with the Nazis. Few collaborated. A somewhat larger (though still small) number of Poles resisted. Most people did neither and could do neither. Yet, as noted before, a single collaborator could do immense damage, proving only that it is easier to destroy than to build. An act of a single moment could condemn a Jew in hiding to death, while hiding a Jew took the daily actions of dozens of people over 4 or 5 years. Any action that aided the Nazis increased the “barbarity and inhumanity of the Holocaust,” yet why does the single act of evil seem more apt to find a place in our memory than many acts of good?

Jews have been a part of Poland since it’s beginning, they helped build the country acting as a managerial class for the Polish nobility. Things were not always smooth between Jews and the Polish people but for over a thousand years they coexisted fruitfully. Jews were often mercenary in their relationship with Poland’s serfs and the Polish people were often resentful towards the Jews, sometimes boiling over into violence. Longtime neighbours have complicated relationships and this kind of history is not unique to Poles and Jews.
Polish anti-Semitism has been endemic in the past, with some strains of it still contaminating Polish society. The Polish democratic governments, on the other hand, have been one of the closest allies and friends of the Jewish state in Europe. Poland has stood with Israel at UN agencies, as well as in the EU. Poland moreover, does not fund anti-Israel Non-Governmental Agencies (NGO’s) as Germany does these days. Nor does Poland act hypocritically as Germany does with regards to its hidden support of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement.

It’s time to put aside the small part of Jewish/Polish shared history that is bad and remember the greater positive aspects, looking forward to a future where Poles, Israelis and Anglos are close allies.
We all face the same existential threats of Cultural Marxism and Islamo-Fascism why wouldn’t we be allies?
