Oggi @cryptobaby compie quattro mesi.
La vita da neo-papà è così rapida che, guardando indietro nel tempo, si fa fatica a realizzare di aver già superato tante cose. Soprattutto tante piccole e grandi paure.
Today @cryptobaby is four months old.
Life as a new dad is that fast that, looking backward in time, it's hard to realize that we overcame so many things. Most of all, many small and big fears.
All'inizio c'era la paura dell'alimentazione. Sarà sufficiente il latte materno? Sta piangendo: dobbiamo prepararle un biberon? Quale latte artificiale potrà digerire?
Grazie a Dio, il latte materno non è mai mancato e in questi quattro mesi @cryptobaby è raddoppiata di peso, rispettando la velocità di crescita indicata dalla tabelle dei pediatri.
At the beginning we were worried about the food. Will mama's breast be enough? She's crying: should we prepare a milk for her? Which artificial milk is better for her?
Thanks to God, breast milk has never been lacking and in these four months @cryptobaby has doubled its weight, respecting the growth rate indicated by the pediatricians' tables.
Poi c'è stata la preoccupazione del viaggio. Riuscirà a superare le quasi 18 ore di viaggio che separano il Piemonte dal Cile (terra natale di sua mamma)? Piangerà in volo oppure ci lascerà dormire, insiema agli altri passeggeri? Si ammalerà?
In retrospettiva sono contento che tutte queste preoccupazioni si siano dissolte.
Il viaggio in aereo è andato bene, all'andata meglio, al ritorno ha pianto un po' alla partenza, poi però si è addormentata e ha dormito tutto il resto del viaggio.
Un raffreddore è arrivato anche nel temperato e mite clima cileno: pazienza, abbiamo imparato a gestire anche la prima malattia della bambina.
Then we worried about the trip. Will she be able to overcome the 18 hours travel that separates Piedmont from Chile (her mother's birthplace)? Will she cry and scream during the whole flight or will she allow us and the other passengers sleep? Will she get sick?
In retrospect, I am glad that all these worries have disappeared.
The flight was ok, although during the way back she cried for a while after taking off, but then she fell asleep and slept until landing.
Even if we were in the temperate and mild Chilean climate, she got a cold and we had to mange her first illness.
Ed eccoci qui, oggi, a celebrare i suoi primi quattro mesi di vita. Anniversario un po' movimentato per il fatto che le stanno spuntando i primi dentini e all'improvviso le fanno male, mentre attraversano le gengive. Buon anniversario a lei e ai nostri primi quattro mesi da genitori. Che possiamo mettere da parte le nostre preoccupazioni di ieri ed andare verso l'estate con rinnovata fiducia e gioia.
Here we are, today, celebrating her first four months of life. This anniversary is a bit animated by the fact that the first teeths are popping up and suddenly they hurt, while crossing the gums. Happy anniversary to you, @cryptobaby, and to our first four months as parents. May we put aside yesterday's worries and prepare for the summer with renewed confidence and joy.
