Mr. Lica di quartiere che vi parla!
Mentre strimpellavo la chitarra e cercavo delle idee per un brano che sto componendo abbastanza astruso, mi sono imbattuto su una notizia, apparsa sulla mia bacheca di Facebook che mi ha lasciato particolarmente stupito, infatti pare che la leggendaria casa di strumenti musicali Gibson sia sull’orlo del fallimento. La leggendaria casa fondata nel 1902 è talmente piena di debiti che non riesce ad andare avanti. Ma come è possibile che una casa così leggendaria e con un nome così importante e famoso si sia ridotta in questo modo? Cerchiamo di analizzare assieme i motivi di questa situazione:

This evenig while i was playing the guitar i read a news that really surprise me, infact the Gibson Guitar corporation is neat at the bankrupt, and its so full of debt that is almost impossible go awany and to think at the future. But how is possible that this company, founded in 1902, is so near to close? Let's talking about that in five points:
I prezzi: Le chitarre Gibson hanno spesso e volentieri un prezzo proibitivo per i più, infatti spendere una media di $ 2.500 per uno strumento musicale li posiziona in fascia di alta qualità, ma la realtà dei fatti, purtroppo, è che questa marca non regge il confronto con delle marche molto più moderne che hanno puntato tutto su qualità, elettronica ed una estetica molto moderna (Dingwall ed Aristides, giusto per fare un esempio).
Price: the Gibson instruments are often really expansive, with a medium price about $ 2.500, and this is a price typically for a high-quality instruments, but for the same price you could buy instruments from other company that use a very high quality woods, electronics and design (like Dingwall and Aristides).
I modelli: un grandissimo difetto della Gibson è la fossilizzazione negli stessi modelli, infatti questa casa ha creato e prodotto, tra i vari prodotti, 5 tra i modelli più celebri di chitarra (SG, Explorer, Les Paul, Flying V ed ES-335), ma questi modelli sono praticamente gli stessi da quasi 40 anni, ed al giorno d’oggi bisogna tenersi al passo con il tempo, soprattutto con le continue richieste un tempo “fuori prodotto” ma ora all’ordine del giorno, come chitarre con 7 o più corde (dai Korn in poi questo prodotti sono stati sdoganati), manici Fretted o l’utilizzo di lavorazioni e legni particolari.
Models: in the last 40 years the Company has created a 5 of the most famous guitar model in the world (SG, Explorer, Les Paul, Flying V ed ES-335), but this is the same every year without a REAL new model, and in this day the music industri in a continue evolution. Today is Unthinkable that a Music Instrument Company doesn’t produce no one 7 or more chord strings (after the Korn’s first album this instrument are become very popular), or any fretted neck or peculiar woods.
Mai un azzardo: questo punto è direttamente collegato al punto precedente, infatti ormai da anni le innovazioni della casa produttrice di Nashville, sono solo colorazioni o piccole variazioni sul tema dello stesso prodotto, senza mai introdurre nulla di nuovo sul mercato. Nel 2017 aveva provato a fare un nuovo Restyling della Flying V, ma la gente vuole qualcosa di nuovo, non un restyling, infatti se quella chitarra fosse stata chiamata “Peppino” nessuno si sarebbe lamentato, probabilmente, ma l’averla battezzata “New Flying V” sembrava quasi una presa in giro, come quando qualcuno vuol correre via, ma si ricorda solo dopo alcuni metri che è legato con una catena al suo letto (spero di esser stato chiaro con questo punto, è abbastanza complesso da spiegare e vorrei esser stato il meno ambiguo possibile).
No one news: this point is linked with the last one, but is in something way different, in fact all the new models made by the Nashville company is just restyling o recoloration of the same model; the only real new model was made in the Flying V: a total new guitar with the same name. All the fans was against the company, because if you create a new model and you call It “Goofy” no one could told you anything, but if you call It ”New Flying V” It’s seems a joke, or better, It seems someone that want to run butHe’s linked to a wall by a chain (I hope i was clear, this point It's not so easy to explain).
4) Produttori: oramai dobbiamo renderci conto che esistono decine e decine di produttore di chitarre e strumenti musicali al mondo, infatti tra coloro che hanno capito come abbassare i prezzi (Ibanez su tutti), compagnie che fanno prodotti prodotti a bassi prezzi (Harley Benton) o produttori dagli alti costi ma che forniscono prodotti quasi di totale liuteria (NS Design) vi è l’imbarazzo della scelta, quindi non aggiornarsi significa anche perdere terreno nei confronti di chi capisce che uno strumento musicale non per forza delle essere uno strumento per mantenersi per vivere, ma anche un semplice passatempo, e che chi vuol spendere qualcosa di più, cerca qualcosa di particolare e non qualcosa che tutti hanno.
Other company: today ther are a lot of music industries, someone that understand how to reduce the price (Ibanez), other that made good instruments at low price (Harley Benton), of very high quality with a total liutery product (NS Design) and that means that you need each 5-7 years a renovation to understand the market and to avoid to lose client because you are linked to the past.
Autoconcorrenza: questa è una cosa parecchio strana, infatti la Gibson possiede un’altra azienda di strumenti musicali, la Epiphone, la quale produce a tutti gli effetti strumenti identici ad i Gibson ma a prezzi nettamente inferiori (acquistai un Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV nel 2009 a meno di ¼ dell’equivalente Gibson), quindi dove sta la differenza? Nel nome, semplicemente nel nome...non è raro che molte compagnie facciano pagare un prodotto in maniera molto cara solo per il nome che vi è affisso sopra, ma quadriplicare un prezzo, mi sembra a dir poco eccessivo.
Self-competition: this could seems strange, but Gibson have another Instrument company, the Epiphone , and this one made THE SAME products just with different name (I have an Epiphone bass guitar and It sounds great). The Only difference is just the name. I could understand to rise the price for a “famous name” , but a triple or quadruple plrice difference just for the name is too high.
