I've been offline for nearly 36 hours, because in installing iTunes out of desperation to get to some media files on my iPhone, and accessing and configuring iCloud, somehow GRUB, which had been loading Win10 just fine, broke terminally. The work only took a few minutes finally (I also managed to straighten out my Ubuntu Studio install, so I'm now moderately crash-tolerant again), but it was absolutely critical work I couldn't drop everything for and do right then.
I have always been impressed with Apple's stability, but that's because of the captive hardware ecosystem. Since the iPod, though, they've consistently gone for design and packaging over hardware quality (mostly, just like everyone else) and I've been unimpressed with their hardware for 20 years due to price vs features- they didn't invent the home PC (Altair, really), the media player, the cellphone, streaming TV, etc.

iTunes, though, falls into a category of crapware I can find very few comparisons for, though, except maybe some pernicious malware...or Windows, which I have little need or interest in outside of a few hardware considerations (like this iPhone, which I would trade for any Android phone with even remotely similar features straight up, as it'll have EASY additional storage, probably a replaceable battery, and other stuff Apple decided years ago schlumps like the buying public don't deserve).
We really should read the user manual THOROUGHLY before we buy, but somehow most of us missed this page posted above.
