KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed in his speech at the UN General Assembly dismissed pressure from Indian troops to withdraw a statement regarding the atrocities and occupation of Kashmiris.
According to the International News Agency, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed has demanded the Indian government withdraw its remarks on Kashmir-occupied Kashmir, saying that I am firm on my word and also in a recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The same thing was repeated and wherever opportunity arose, I would become the voice of Kashmiris.
Mahathir Mohammed, in his address to the UN General Assembly, called the move to abolish the special status of occupied Kashmir as an invasion and illegal occupation of Kashmiris and exposed the Indian atrocities in front of the world while establishing his writ to the United Nations. He emphasized on implementing Kashmir resolutions.
The Modi government bubble over Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammed's raising of Kashmir on the World Forum, and a foreign ministry spokesman demanding that Malaysia withdraw the statement, saying that Kashmir is an internal issue of India that does not need Malaysia to intervene.
