Goodbye Kent
Last day at the beach ☹️
It's been nice being by the sea, especially since we've had some outstanding weather this week. Smelling the air and listening to the birds sing in the morning has also been an absolute joy. London is so loud and busy that the sound of cars alone tend to drown out all this stuff, it if exists at all. The pollution from the vehicles also mask any pleasant smell of nature, especially in my neighbourhood.
Alas! All good things must come to an end so I must return to the cacophony of London. Hopefully the drive back won't bee too slow. It seems there will be quite a few cars on the road judging by how many people are down in Kent from London. Mind you many of them are just arriving now for the weekend. There are also a lot of people heading to London from Kent for the weekend. Throw in the random road works and unpredictable tunnel and bridge closures and you just never know. I may drive back in the middle of the night to at least avoid most of the traffic.
I would have taken the train, which is actually my preferred mode of transportation. However the trains are not reliable either, especially south eastern British Rail networks. I've been taking trains to Kent for nearly 3 decades now and nothing has changed. God only knows how many times I've had to get down at Chatham or Gillingham unto a rail replacement bus 😩
Peace & Love,
Adé
