“Share a Coke” campaign is supposed are for the soda drinkers all over the world. Of course, Its normal that sometimes you can’t find your name on a can or bottle. So Coke offered the option to personalize via its website. However, if you try to personalize your Coke bottle with the name of 24 different countries, you get rejected in an odd statement.
If you had not heard of the "Share a Coke" campaign, you are not alone. However, you have probably seen Coca-Cola bottles with different names on their labels. If you've ever tried to find your name on a key ring or a mug, and it was not there we thought the same thing happened with the Coca-Cola campaign. Only popular names have been mass produced. But Coke thought of an addition to this campaign and they allowed users to go to their website and make a bottle specifically with their name on it.
If the name you type in the personalization engine is not on Coca-Cola's approved list, you may see a very strange message and, oddly enough, this happens when you type in some country names. If you type in the country name of Cameroon a message appeared saying :
"Your name is not on our approved list."When you personalize bottles of Coca-Cola, have fun and remember not to be respectful, tasteful and appropriate, please try again."
What is disrespectful or insipid about the country "Cameroon"? If you try again, you will discover that there are 24 countries that, if they entered the name field, return the same red text error message. Why Did ‘Share a Coke’ Blacklist These 24 Countries ?
A full test revealed that 24 states do not appear on Coke's "approved list", but a random random combination of letters such as "Fslksdgja" was not disapproved. That North Korea and Cuba are the only countries in which Coca-Cola can not be bought or sold, which would be understandable for them. However, if you try to type Cuba in the Name field, you get an approved preview.
North Korea generates an error message :
“Oops! Looks like the name you requested is not an approved one. Names may not be approved if they’re potentially offensive to other people, trademarked, or celebrity names, the message began. We’ve worked hard to get this list right, but sometimes we mess up. If you think this is an error, please contact our Customer Care team.
