
At the end of the 10 hour election the Acting National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddy Blay, has emerged the winner as Stephen Ntim loses in the keenly contested national chairmanship race of the party.
Freddie Blay polled 3,021 votes as against his closest contenders; Stephen Ntim and Dr. Richard Amoako Baah who had 2,515 and 18 votes respectively.
This is the fourth attempt for Mr. Stephen Ntim in his quest to lead the party.
Before the elections Freddy Blay was widely criticised for personally procuring 275 buses for all NPP constituencies, which many industry players described as vote buying but his spokeperson defended him.
Freddy Blay is now th National Chairman for the Ruling party New Patrotic Party headed by Nana Akuffo-Addo.

Frederick Worsemao Armah Blay, populary known as Freddy Blay is a Ghanaian Lawyer and Politician.
He was a member of Parliament in Ghana. And also served as the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament in the fourth Republic.
He lost his seat in the 2008 election to Armah Kofi Buah of NDC.
He is the Senior Partner at Blay and Associates and also the Board Chairman and majority shareholder of Western Publications Limited, publishers of the Daily Guide Newspaper.
