Hello, I'm Adarsh Kushwaha, a second-year undergraduate student at NIT Kurukshetra. I'm thrilled to share that I'm attending the Annual Kotlin Conference 2024, powered by Hive, at GL Bajaj Institute, Noida.
I was first introduced to Hive at the GDSC WoW Delhi NCR event, where I learned that it is a cryptocurrency mining company specializing in Ethereum and Bitcoin. Their innovative approach and commitment to sustainable mining practices left a strong impression on me.
Today’s highlight was the session by Sandeep Jain, CEO of GeeksforGeeks. Sandeep Jain shared an inspiring journey, from his B.Tech days to completing his M.Tech at IIT Roorkee, and his subsequent software career at D. E. Shaw & Co. He candidly discussed his decision to leave a high-paying SDE job to pursue his true passion—teaching.
Sandeep's talk was filled with invaluable advice for freshers on job applications, acing interview rounds, and succeeding in coding assessments. His insights into leveraging various platforms for career advancement were particularly enlightening.
After that, the most interesting session that I found was of Ayushi Agarwal, talking about recently launched Kotlin Multi-platform.
Kotlin Multiplatform is a feature of the Kotlin programming language that allows developers to share code across different platforms such as Android, iOS, JVM, JavaScript, and native systems. This enables developers to write business logic, data handling, and other core functionalities once and use them on multiple platforms, reducing code duplication and improving maintainability.
Her session provide me inside outside of Kotlin, it's competitive nature with Flutter and Swift and what to choose for building a career in mobile development.
Overall, the session was a blend of motivation and practical advice, making it a truly enriching experience for all attendees.
