As we do every week we hold our meetup in Zug to talk crypto and stuff...
This week we had the honour to have the team from Lapo.io over to give us an explanation on their project and we also started on our first meetup in the other side of the building.
So for the first time we also used one of our freshly printed banners outside to welcome the guests.
The post building in Zug was refurbished and reformed into this really cool coworking space and the top floors house Validity Labs. They are a firm famous for designing Smart Contracts. So since there is a lot of work in that they have taken over most of the Co working space and we and our group had to move our Wednesday meetups to the other side of the building.
There was a little hectic stuff going on as things usually do. The other side we are moving into was not completely finished and it was a little dusty, they also delivered this huge TV for us to hold the presentations on but on delivery the screen was broken so they had to rush to get a replacement from Zurich. Safe to say it was an eventful day.
So for us it was quite the relief when the Lapo Team showed up safe and sound and with a lot of drinks to boot.
I will not go to much into the details but they have this cool idea to form a stable coin that gets its stability from an AI that monitors several different factors and then determines how to set the coin. The aim is to grow but to avoid the giant price swings that crypto is now experiencing.
After the presentation there were some nice Q&A times that really kept the presenters on their toes. I have to say that the people coming to these presentations always have some good questions prepared.
To close of the evening every one had a glass (or more) of Prosecco, Aperol Spritz or a beer graciously donated by the Lapo Team and at the end the CEO made an even better announcement to us.
He decided to donate the coins for one of their masternodes to our association.
This means that for us it will be much easier to maintain the rent costs and general expenses.
It will make the lives of us as a team a lot easier to organise and put together this really cool meetup that really has become a regular part in our lives for the last few months...
