A laser jammer is an electronic device used by motorists to avoid users of a LIDAR or probably a laser gun from gaining speed reading of their car. It should be noticed that laser jammers are not the same with radar jammers.
To preserve or conserve LIDAR, laser jammers must detect the emitted light at the initial stage, normally infrared light on the 904 nm wavelength.

This is as a result of the jammers focusing on the blocking light emitted from laser guns rather than radio waves from radar guns, US federal laws banning the use of radar guns do not apply to these devices (laser jammers).
Laser jammers for private individuals use has changed in recent years. the first jammer ever manufactured was by K40 Electronics in the year 1994, which is also known as the K40 Laser Defuser.
