LBRY is a new way to publish and share content with each other online. On LBRY you can host any kind of files ranging from videos, audio, PDFs, ZIPs and practically any other kind of file. The content is hosted on a decentralized and distributed network.
LBRY Credits
LBRY Credits, or LBC are the unit of account for LBRY which you can use to unlock and pay for the content. The LBRY protocol utilizes payments with the use of LBC. So the credits are vital in order to use the marketplace based on the LBRY protocol.
Digital marketplace
LBRY is basically a digital marketplace. You can sell your content without any intermediaries. The creator gets paid fully. It's a kind of a "smart contract" - once the payment on blockchain is verified, you will get access to the file. No third parties, no additional fees or provisions taken! LBRY could basically be used to cut out the middlemen taking huge fees - let it be Envato, Youtube, Netflix, App store or Stock photo images. The possibilities are endless!
