First of all I want to clear out that I am far faar faaar away from a python Jedi. But I do love python, I've loved it for a while now, and in that process some stuff has stuck in my thick skull. However I do know communities and in those days, I have created and associate with some tech communities, and virtual communities I come across people that want to learn on a more human manner, away from RTFM, just be able to get an advisor and people that can digest the info for them.
I understand that positon since I have been there, so I understand when people PM me and ask for help.
So last week, I got a message from a 15 year old boy from Nigeria that just desperatly want to learn coding. I volunteer to be his mentor and anaswer all his questions. Like many motivated kids, they are a sponge and ask about every piece of terminology.
From variables, arrays, lists, functions, classes, to what the code can do from videogames, web applications, desktop app, mobile apps, etc.
It's been a week and he seems to be even more motivated with the idea of Python. I have started to fill him in with resources around the web, from forums to books and free courses that he can digest, while at the same time assit him with the examples and with his quest to get his first computer.
So far it has been great and I hope in the future he becomes a great programmer, I already introduce him to bitcoins and work sites that he can keep in mind once he gets the experience to start taking clients. So to my Nigerian padwan, may your code live without bugs. ;)
