Trump.
You either love him or hate him, but one thing that can’t be denied is that he was and is a polarizing figure when it comes to politics and ideas.
Me?
I couldn't care less about Party politics or Donald Trump. He was a buffoon. Biden is a buffoon. They’re all buffoons. Trump was the kind of pompous buffoon that had an unforgettable memetic quality to him. Biden is anemic and unmemorable, plus he doesn’t have an NFT collection.
Guess who does?
The Donald.
Trump is the type of guy that walks into a room, opens his mouth and people aren’t on the fence about him. They either love him or hate him. He is unforgettable. That polarizing, unforgettable factor could be a narrative to watch in the long term when thinking about his NFTs.
Trump is the first President in history to have used Pepe the Frog in tweets, playfully or obnoxiously bridging the gap between crypto meme culture and popular culture.

He is also the subject of several classic cards in the Rare Pepes collection (among others) on CounterParty, which in my opinion is poised to become the most culturally relevant and important NFT collection in history.

If you do a search on Xchain for “Trump” there are 22 pages that come up, with 212 different assets. Some of these are tokens with no images attached, but others belong to venerable collections like Rare Pepes, Dank Directory, Kaleidoscope, Spamgelo, and the Rare Ordinals Directory. Many of them go back 9 years or more.

Love him or hate him he is part of crypto history in more ways than one.

Trump Deployer
In December of last year, the former president launched one of the tackiest collections in the history of NFTs, and that’s saying something in a space filled with pixel “Dick Butts” and animated toilet bowls.
They are some of the most pedestrian, unoriginal, stupid, and cheap-looking NFTs I’ve ever seen, but they perfectly capture the most stereotypical Americanisms and phony patriotic schtick I’ve seen since the last time I stepped in a truck stop in the middle of North Georgia on one of my long haul drives north to visit family or hike in the mountains.
The Trump NFTs are filled with egregious odes to Mount Rushmore (with his face on it of course), West Palm Beach, golf shirts, hunting gear, hardhats, and military jumpsuits. It’s Truckstop Americana and Shock and Awe Bush-era patriotism with Trump's smug grin plastered on for good measure. Flea market trinkets on Opensea.

Despite all of that I still think these have some juice to run, both leading up to the election and in the long term.
Let’s put it in bullet points to make it easier to follow.
They are the first NFTs ever launched by a President of the US
He has a notoriety around him that polarizes people — and that sort of thing sellsThey are almost “hipster” cool in an ironic Truck Stop Americana sort of way.
2024 is an election year, and Trump is going to be a part of it
On the last point above you have to understand that in crypto culture narrative and hype are driving factors to everything. We have an election year coming and Trump will be up to his usual antics. Hell, he may even throw in some Pepe tweets again.
Pricewise these have ticked down a lot since the Feb highs where the average Trump NFT was selling for .67 ETH.
Buy now, sell later? It’s a narrative that might stick.

Do I own any? I do not.
If I buy anything in crypto that relates to Trump it will be some of those classic CounterParty cards and not something from his collection. I like to observe the market and the obscure side of it because of the fun factor.
That being said, it’s gonna be yuge.
Love him or hate him, Donald Trump has made his mark on the blockchain for all time.
