Not that long ago it was announced that bitcoin might soon become legal tender in another region, Tonga, by the end of the year. They would be joining El Salvador that has already made that move. And now after the recent event with the underwater volcano they need more help than ever.
Tonga accepting bitcoin donations
Tonga has been accepting bitcoin donations and they've already seen a flood of help coming from around the world as people look to contribute in any way that they can.
They have already received hundreds of cryptocurrency donations with bitcoin and it didn't take long for them to start seeing thousands of dollars come in after the effort went live to raise funds for relief efforts.
The damage that was inflicted from this recent event is still being assessed.
