It can take seconds for someone to make their way onto your property, confiscate your delivered package, and then walk off for you to never see them or your goods again.
It has happened thousands of times and fueled an introduction of a wide range of security items that have been introduced in the market to address this issue.
From allowing delivery drivers in to your own home to complete the delivery, using special door locks and cameras etc, or using delivery bags with locks to keep away porch pirates, a variety of methods have been tried over the years.
There are hundreds of videos online of porch pirates being caught during the act, some of them have been decent enough to return the goods when caught.

As millions of people have turned to ordering more online this year, for groceries, clothing, and other items, that has meant that there has been an increase in package thefts. Especially now with the holidays approaching there are even more chances for them to find packages that have been left out on one porch or another.
There have been hundreds of package thefts reported in cities around the U.S. this year.
