The time has come to honor our fallen comrades! During the Great Mint War of 2021 some of our beloved Hive Punks were lost in the trenches of battle. Servers were going down, databases were resetting left and right. Hiveans all over the world were crying out "WEN PUNKS?" as the Hive Punks site struggled to handle the hoardes of users flooding the pages.
It was chaos and confusion all over as the blockchain experts were smashing the mint button incessantly, while the noobies struggled to figure out how to manually interact with the contract and just what the heck SWAP.HIVE is. Before we knew it the server gave a final sigh of relief, and a puff of smoke, as the last Hive Punk out of 10,000 was minted. Somehow in this flurry of activity 21 different Hive Punks perished, being sent to the @null address. It was a bittersweet moment as the lucky survivors clutched onto their loved ones.

These Punks will never see the light of day again, unfortunately. Many of them perished from accidents and some from natural causes. The Punk Legends Discord is committed to keeping their memories alive by doing a series of Hive Punk Obituary posts! We ask any of the existing Hive Punk holders to join and to take part in this fun little adventure.

There is no standard format so have fun with it! We ask that people pick different punks to write the stories about, to make things more interesting. If you need the details about each punk, again you can find them HERE at the Hive Punk Graveyard. The goal is to write a short story about each of their lives and their deaths, to increase awareness about the Hive Punks project and the decentralized nature of NFTs and blockchains.
