[Last time...]
Finally she got up and took the cup to a wash tub on a table. He watched her walk away…so graceful…so elegant.
‘It is not surprising that the face of a beautiful woman attracts attention…’ ° ° ° ° He thought privately.

[In the forest…south of Youngstown…]
Having put just a quarter of a mile between himself and the Seneca tribe, Commander Galligan already began to hear loud yelling and war hoops coming from the village!
‘I’ve got to keep going!’ °°°° He thought to himself as he ran down the river trail breathing heavily, ‘Got to catch up with the crew!’ °°°°
[On the Silverton…in the mouth of the Niagara River…]
“I was worried about having to enter my password… It was very hard for me to sigh in…” Lieutenant Gratefuleveryday said as he finally got his locker opened in the officer’s quarters.
“Aye, it’s a cliff hanger Sairrr! I worry about the same thing…” Petty Officer Tamaralovelace replied as she pulled her cap out of her locker and slid it over her head, “Blimey! I missed a roll call! I better get up top right away!”
As the Petty Officer scurried off, Gratefuleveryday watched her as she headed up the galley stairs….
’She does seem like a lovely lady…’ °°°° He thought privately.
[Main deck…]
The crowds along the shore seem to grow steadily as the big warship entered the Niagara river. It’s forward jib sail tugging her slowly southward into the river with the French Corvette just a hundred yards behind her. Cheers rang out from the crowd and many sailors lined the portside rail and waved back.
“Start dropping the sounding-stones!” Cockpit Mate Kevmcc ordered as he eyed the river depth.
“Aye Sairrr! Speakin' up, been spokin' to!” Seaman Novicadian yelled back as he tossed the first sounding-stone line into the water….
”Twenty-two feet Sairrr!”
Kevmcc made a note of it and then glanced back up at the crowded shoreline. Every settler and frontiersman from the entire town seemed to be coming down to the banks of the Niagara. Small boys ran along the shore, trying to stay abreast of the great ship edging southward in the stream.
On the bridge deck, the captain carefully guided the Silverton towards the main wharf just a few hundred feet up the river. With a steady hand, he spun the great wheel twice and the bow of the ship began its slow turn towards the shore.
He knew that the Corvette would fetch a pretty price in Youngstown as so few real vessels were available on the Great Lakes.
“Able Seaman Cve3!” The captain barked, “Prepaur tae drap anchur oan mah commain!”
“Aye Sairrr!”
