Another day... another Layer2 story! I started exploring Blast when they launched, as the chain would fit perfectly the current demand for airdrop hunting. Blast is the only Ethereum L2 with native yield for ETH and stablecoins, from ETH staking and RWA protocols. The yield from these decentralized protocols is passed back to Blast users automatically
Blast only became possible following Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade. ETH yield from L1 staking, initially Lido, is automatically transferred to users via rebasing ETH on the L2. In the future, the Blast community will have the power to supplement, or even fully replace, Lido Blast-native solutions or other third party protocols.
Not sure if the technical side attracted people, or the opportunity to earn $BLAST! Phase One concluded and the token was launched, but I will tell you how that went a bit later. What you need to know so far is that I've done some quests on Layer3 and hustled a lot on the testnet to tick more boxes and trigger $BLast eligibility. Checked the dashboard and I had 724.90 points and a 6x multiplier for using Dapps.
Yes bro... tick boxes in two places by doing quests! Layer3 will launch $L3, and it was suggested that CUBEs minted from quests will trigger eligibility. Hopefully your story will be not as hilarious as mine!
My advice is to start grinding on Layer3 and Blast ASAP, in any way possible. Claim the daily off-chain GM and increase your streak for achievements, complete quests and mint CUBEs, and obviously spread the on-chain interaction across many days.
I traded, staked and added liquidity to trigger more multipliers. I added USDB and ezETH liquidity to boost my points, and hustled more to improve the amount of tokens I will receive! Why? Because I liked their vision!
Blast’s success is only due to the community of users and builders that contribute to the ecosystem. This is why 50% of the total BLAST supply is reserved for the community and will be distributed through incentive campaigns. From that, 100% of the allocation will go directly to the community! Let's go!
Users that bridged $ETH or $USDB to Blast bootstrapped the initial liquidity on the Blast ecosystem and earned Blast Points throughout Phase 1. These users will be rewarded with 7% of the total BLAST supply. I was one of those and I remember I paid over $40 in gas fees to bridge! I took a leap of faith, knowing that early contributors are always rewarded!
Users that contributed to the success of Dapps earned Blast Gold and will be rewarded with 7% of the total BLAST supply. Another interesting fact, but not that amazing as I only earned 0.05 Blast Gold. However, my accelerated hustle proved to be efficient, as I enhanced my multiplier to 18x and the total points to 3,901 with only few days before the $BLAST launch!
I was excited on launch day, looking forward to claim my tokens and brag about it. The claim process wasn't great, as I was requested to install the Blast app and use the code supplied in there to claim the $BLAST earned during Phase 1.
Keep in mind that the early bridge fees where insane, and later one wasn't that cheap either. Early fees on the chain where high as well, and my records said that I spend over $100 worth of ETH with bridging and questing. At this point I was hoping to break even!
Installed the app, done the steps and claimed the tokens! **In Phase 1 I earned 25.5 $BLAST! **This was hilarious and I swear this was the first time ever when I wasn't upset about the amount of the airdrop! Laugher came as a first reaction, as I spent $100 on Blast to receive $0.55 worth of tokens.
If with $ZK and $ZRO I felt I deserved more, this one didn't even made me blink! It was too funny to be upset! I honestly burst into laugher when the pop-up message informed me that my Phase 1 reward was 25 $BLAST!
Will I stop? Neah... PVM never gives up! There are 10 billion $BLAST allocated to Phase 2, to build the Fullstack Chain. This is a long one, as Phase 2 will end next year, in June 2025 (12 months). Half of Phase 2 rewards are allocated to Blast Points holders and the other half is allocated to Blast Gold holders. Hopefully, in June 2025 I will claim more than I claimed for Phase 1! It's not hard, as I set the bar so low!
Your wallet will earn Points automatically every block based on your ETH/WETH/USDB balance. This is reflected in real time on the dashboard, and user can increase them by bridging more to Blast. Good news from Across, as Blast will be added as a bridging destination. Looking forward to move assets faster and cheaper with Across!
Little boost for holding $BLAST, as the tokens will earns points at twice the rate of ETH/WETH/USDB. The Dapps will earn points at the same rate as wallets, based on their TVL. When you transfer crypto from your wallet, the Dapps will start earning Points based on what you transferred over. Then the protocols should distribute the points they earn back to the users.
