Celebrating Mantle's Milestones With Stratum And YieldYak

Mantle celebrated one year since the V1 Alpha launch, and amazing milestones where shared with the community. The network is one of the best capitalised Layer 2 chains, being incubated by ByBit, and enabling a robust ecosystem of diverse projects for users to experience.

Mantle is a modular Layer-2 Ethereum scaling solution and the first to leverage EigenDA for data availability. The chain is built on top of the Ethereum blockchain, as a Layer-2 scaling solution that alleviate the mainnet issues from processing every individual transaction.

By harnessing Optimistic Rollup technology, Mantle can securely log transactions occurring on the Layer 2 through off-chain computation, before settling the rollup of transactions on-chain. We all love modular solutions!

During the first year, Mantle reward station shared $39,000 rewards to the participants. There are nearly 3,000,000 users, which helped Mantle achieve over 110 million transactions and $1.3 billion in TVL. The growth was incredible!

I explored Mantle in 2024, but shy and with little funds. I landed in there after I received an unexpected airdrop from Stratum, a native liquidity hub built as a public good to drive TVL and user acquisition to the Mantle ecosystem.

Taking inspiration from Solidly and Velodrome, Stratum utilizes the ‘vote escrow’ NFT (veNFT) model, to deliver a protocol on which the projects building on Mantle to derive sustainable liquidity for their tokens and enable users to transact in a cost effective and frictionless manner.

The reward came as a veNFT, claimable upon launch. I feel good about receiving mint #100, which came with 2,184.00 locked $STRAT! Managed to get some $MNT for the fees and claimed my NFT. The next step was to use it for gauge voting!

The weekly voting epochs end on Wednesday but I tent to leave the rewards unclaimed for few weeks. This makes the claiming more efficient, as similar earnings will add up on top of the old ones. I applied the strategy every week, and swapped or unwrapped the rewards into $MNT.

I like fBOMB & PUFF as memecoins, and the amount of stablecoins is growing nicely. On top of the voting rewards I also earn veSTRAT, which is added automatically as voting power with each claim. Four months into this journey, and the Mantle exploration looks good!

The yield farmed from Stratum helped to focus on consolidate my $YAK and to climb peaks on Mantle. YieldYak is the most popular and most used optimizer on Avalanche, due to the great variety of opportunities that it offers. An optimizer is in charge of maximizing the annual percentage of rewards that users can get when farming or staking your cryptocurrencies on other platforms

Lots of fancy words and new crypto opportunities! I claimed all my rewards earned from voting on Stratum, and swapped most for $MNT! Wrapped it and add it in the Lendle pool on Yield Yak to compound.

Mantle has the best APR for $YAK staking, and if wMNT was skated into the compounding pool... everything else was swapped for $YAK. Time to climb on Mantle, and grow my $YAK holdings. DeFi at higher standards thanks to Yield Yak

The $YAK pool is not auto-compounding, and the 32.3% APR will generate $MNT rewards. Dusted the low valued tokens and managed to get 0.1 $YAK from the dusting! It's not a huge amount but I can have fun while climbing new mountains on Mantle!
