Dear Hiveans,
as I‘m in vacation right now, today just a short post about 5 surprising developments I expect in the coming years.
- Collapse of Russia: Russia’s economy will crater, their banks implode, its military will retreat from Ukraine, Putinism will end and rebellions of minorities (Chechens, Tatars, Bashkirs, ...) will erupt. Here an interesting quote from Milan Kundera‘s „A Kidnapped West“ that I‘m currently reading:
Central Europe, according to Palacký, ought to be a family of equal nations, each of which—treating the others with mutual respect and secure in the protection of a strong, unified state—would also cultivate its own individuality. And this dream, although never fully realized, would remain powerful and influential. Central Europe longed to be a condensed version of Europe made up of nations conceived according to one rule: the greatest variety within the smallest space. How could Central Europe not be horrified facing a Russia founded on the opposite principle: the smallest variety within the greatest space?
Indeed, nothing could be more foreign to Central Europe and its passion for variety than Russia: uniform, standardizing, centralizing, determined to transform every nation of its empire (the Ukrainians, the Belarusians, the Armenians, the Latvians, the Lithuanians, and others) into a single Russian people (or, as is more commonly expressed in this age of generalized verbal mystification, into a “single Soviet people”).
- China's slump into insignificance: this may start either by an ill-adviced war on Taiwan, by a financial meltdown (China = Enron x 200) or by a slower demography-induced descent of consumption and production, or a rebellion against the CCP with unforeseeable consequences...
- Bitcoin's take over as the pristine collateral of the economy, which decreases demand for US Treasuries. This may be a bumpy road, but you cannot achieve the role as global money without leaving the beaten path.
- Nuclear renaissance: new nuclear companies will expand electricity production by nuclear reactors by multiple times, thus generating economies of scale, cheap, reliable and clean energy. The irresponsible and mass-murdering political decisions (more on that in a separate post) to phase out nuclear energy since the 1970s will - finally - be reversed. (News from today: https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/world-bank-end-ban-nuclear-energy-projects-still-debating-upstream-gas-2025-06-11/)
- Revival of Christianity / Catholicism: we habe a new Pope (the tariffs are working so good - even the Pope was made in America), after Francis‘ underwhelming „performance“ (according to Peter Thiel, Pope Francis is the strongest argument against Catholicism). With increasing problems in the world and people realizing the nihilism of the last decades and the vanity / emptiness of woke ideology, the spreading insecurity concerning the truth in news due to AI, irresponsible media, etc., people will search for deep, metaphysical and eternal truths.
Delegations
On another note, I'd like to shuffle my existing outgoing delegations.
Dear @amberkashif, @rammargarita, @ladytitan, @imacryptogeek, @swammy1109, @cindy911, @kristowe, @jellyvine, @mviews, @ibbtammy
After 2.5 years I would halve the existing delegations to 1000 HP.
Dear @celf.magazine, @mipiano, @dungeondog, @r0nny, @lauramica, @vvgm,
After 4.5 years I would cancel the existing delegations.
I thank you very much for your support of our Hive community and wish you all the best. Hive on!
Furthermore @all I'd like to make some new delegations. So I'd be glad if you can recommend ambitious Hive newbies who would employ a delegation diligently.
Have a great day,
zuerich
