The world tries to make you think and act in a certain way.
If you want to inoculate yourself against the insidious effects of societal group think, you need your own values, morals, and goals.
It’s hard to care what other people think if you don’t live by their value system.
Problem solving in 3 steps:
- What do you need to know?
- What do you already know?
- What's the relationship between the two?
You put the work in.
You stay disciplined.
You stomach the risk and uncertainty.
This is the path to freedom.
I'll pick the disciplined non-genius over the lazy genius, every damn time.
Being "genius" is overrated.
"If you lose you lose, but at least you have the courage to stand up for what you think is right for the position.
There’s nothing worse than getting pushed off the board and realizing that a lack of self-confidence didn’t allow you to even put up a fight!"
This world had never seen and will never see another person exactly like you.
You were never meant to be put into the cage of comfort and passivity society tries to shove you into.
Embrace your strengths and weaknesses, so you can make the most of them and give your gift to the world.
Your existence is futile, only if you allow it to be.
Intelligence and ambition helps.
Grit and hustle are a prerequisite.
Many have the first two. Fewer have the second set. But what about the ability get your ass beat, lose, and rise from the ashes?
Fuck who's still standing. I wanna know who gets back up after being dropped.
Contrary to popular belief, the terms regime, regimen, and regiment are not interchangeable.
Thank you @hustlehacker. This is a very timely newsletter at this phase in my life. The points might seem obvious, but it's very easy to forget the big picture. I've wasted hundreds of hours perhaps on cultural nonsense and it's contributing a lot to my continuing downward spiral.
Once I learn to consciously view the rest of the world in a similar lens, I'm hopeful that I would be able to pick myself back up and get back on track.
If something bothers you, develop the means to escape it or the power to change it.
@hustlehacker reading my mind
If I don’t want my son be like you, I won’t hang out with you
If you won’t inspire him to be great, to be honest, to be unique, to work hard, to stand up for what he believes in
I don’t want you around him
I chose my friends wisely, I know there are side effects to friendships
What makes you depressed is waking up and not being who you want to be
Squandering your potential. Wasting your life having "fun". The pointless, temporary kind of fun. The bad fun
You wake up dead inside
How much more time will you let go by, living and feeling like a loser?
This will be my main point on the long awaited debate with @hustlehacker
It's irrefutable.
If you feel you are becoming the best you can be, play games all you want.
If not, you may lie to the world about your reality, but you can't lie to yourself.
Some of you younger men construe stoicism as being emotionless, and then wonder why women find you boring and unappealing
There can be no attraction if you act like a damned robot and play it too cool for school
I am naturally Stoic and training myself to be so took it to the next level. Here's what helped me have fewer problems:
Emotional control does not mean lack of expressiveness. If you can be expressive and funny--neither of which loses control--you'll be solid.
Carbs are not the enemy, your addiction to sugar is.
The credit card company’s dream = the guy who just pays the minimum every month.
"... it doesn’t make sense for you to “niche down”....personalities don’t fit neatly into specific niches. So the more narrow and “niched” your personal brand is, the less authentic to you as a person it will be."
Wise, words from @hustlehacker
After 2 weeks of intermittent fast (18-6 feeding schedule), I find myself WAY less hungry.
My first meal fills to the point where I have to remind myself to eat to get calories.
We all say stupid things that we regret.
We live, we learn, we grow.
The only difference now in the era of the Internet is nothing's ever forgotten.
There's a video of something you did somewhere, or a screenshot of something you said.
Must be really hard on today's kids.
When you begin to understand the world and the human condition, you oscillate between "save it" and "fuck it."
Some days you think we can bring light to the future, while other days you believe that darkness is here to stay.
Most of the shit in modern culture--if not all of it--is a distraction to keep you from achieving freedom of mind, body, and steemit wallet.

Get yourself locked up.
Write.
Living paycheck to paycheck has to be the most stress inducing activity in the history of the universe.
How the hell do so many Americans do it?
Sending themselves to an early grave.
Part of putting yourself around the right people is being the right person yourself.
No one wants to let stragglers and value leeches into the pack.
If you ain't worth shit, you're gonna be stuck with shitty people--no matter how much you want it to be different.
There’s a lot of hate on here for the 9-5
My boss is a millionaire in his early thirties
My boss’s boss is worth $100 million in his late thirties
Both of them work around 10 hours a day
Doubt anyone on here will get even close to that level with their online business
I think most of the online business crowd is after freedom rather than extreme wealth.
These kids are doing 6 figs--more than enough--from wherever they want to, without a boss, however they want to.
The world is a beautiful of depressing place depending what you decide.
If your life gets harder as you get older, you're hustling backwards.
Top line revenue is cool
But what’s your margin pleighboi?
All the best things in life are a function of discipline.
The gym is so much more than trying to look good, get girls, a 6-pack. Or any reason most have for going.
It's a modern day battlefield. Where you fight against yourself. It's a platform for self-improvement. For cultivating strength in body and mind. A friend who never lies.
At some point, everyone is someone else's "learning lesson".
For better or for worse.
The closest thing most of us get to a rite of passage is not intentional.
It is hitting rock bottom with no family support to cushion the fall.
It is by will alone that the fall doesn't break you, and it is grit that causes you to transcend.
There always was darkness and there will always be. That has never stopped greats from illuminating the world to the best of their capacity. Food for thought.
One episode of a BBC television series has the production value of an American feature film.
The land of Shakespeare doesn't play around.
You don't need to read anymore books on the topic.
You need to take action. That's how you make progress and grasp what is necessary.
NOT by reading more books on the subject.
You must be your harshest critic during the process and greatest supporter when going for the outcome.
Sleep is the biggest 'protector' against declining testosterone.
Don't compromise this by drinking too much booze, or going too low on total calories or total carbs.
There’s only one measure of success that matters:
Did you leave this world better or worse than how you found it?
More
The goal of a successful life is to be a net positive on the world, even if only by an infinitesimally small amount.
Send your children to public school
They get taught they can be “whatever they want to be”
This magically always requires them needing a college education and becoming massively in debt to the government
-Respect for the biggest con game of all time
Are you worried about the future of crypto?
No one else is.
2018 saw:
- VCs invest ~$2.85 billion
- Bakkt raise $182 million first round
- Coinbase valued at $8 billion
- Kraken valued at $4 billion
- Nasdaq, Fidelity and TD Ameritrade announced their crypto products coming soon
Crypto isn’t all about the money especially when you close -85% YTD you tell yourself it’s the friends you made along the way!
Pretty basic rules for trading crypto:
If everyone is shilling a coin it's probably time to get out.
Don't let anybody borrow money unless you're fine with never seeing it again.
Don't leave money on Altcoin exchanges.
Do your own research, don't take people's word.
HEDGE!!!
I never fully understood why ICO teams kept substantial allocations of tokens for themselves.
Didn't they already raise money? Isn't that double dipping?
Whether or not #Ethereum succeed, it's great they have such a fervent group of #Bitcoin maximalists ready to point out each and every mistake made.
If they are successful, it will have only served to make them stronger. If they aren't, well at least someone tried to warn us.

It's no wonder so many are attracted to this constantly evolving open discourse.
