How did the sexy woman perception change throughout history?
Renaissance (between the 14th and 16th centuries)
From the paintings made during the Renaissance period, attractive women were much more weighty than they were today. In particular, the portrayal of women with small breasts, quadrangular belts and large hips is regarded as an indication that women of this body type are more attractive. However, light color hair and skin were some criteria that determined the beauty concept of the pale makeup era.
The Victorian Period (1837-1901)
Unlike Renaissance women, Victorian women began to show less interest in their bodies. It would not be wrong to say that the bases of thin waist and sexy sensibility were cast in this period. In this period, which was more prevalent than ever before, women were barely breathing for the sake of beauty.
1920s
In the 1920s, women had a sexy look, short hair, small breasts, even hiding their body lines, but occasionally caught with slits and short handbags. The horseshoe took its place in a more flexible belt and belts. As in the Renaissance, open skin was considered more attractive. Dark eye and lip makeup were also perceived as items that enhanced a woman's sex appeal.
Hollywood's golden age 1930s and 1940s
The 1930s and 1940s are the years when women are getting their bodies in the foreground, but not as much as they are today, but with more light workouts towards more athletic bodies. The years in which the most primitive forms of backed bras are being used also coincide with this range. The names such as Jean Harlow and Rita Hayworth (above) can be seen as the sexy female icon of the years when the blonde and the redbird went up. The makeup trend is much simpler compared to the 20's.
1950s and the conservative USA
The styles of the movie stars like the 50's Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly (above) have begun to become more and more accepted. In the years when women were first imposed to find a husband and build a nest, the clothes were more closed, but the body lines were evident. Today, the bikinis, which use almost 3 bikini fabrics, give an idea of the social perception of the time.
Hippies rise and 1960s
Today's zero body fashion can be interpreted as a hitching of the sexy woman's perception in the 1960s. Models like Twiggy (top) caused women to weaken their head. In this period, the indispensable elements of women's seksapelin were mini skirts, short dresses and false eyelashes
Disco disco 1970s
In the 1970s, high pants, more abundant clothes, and giant glasses were accessories that complemented the women's sex appeal. Women were not stuck in the appearance of their bodies until the 70s. The messy hair and bronze skin were now considered to be more sexy.
1980s with wadding, fluffy hair and synth-pop
Aerobics and fitness also changed the fashion and sexy woman perception of the 1980s. The athletic body has begun to be accepted as a sexually explicit demonstration. Everyone in the '80s, where the tights were worn by everyone regardless of gender, was wide shouldered ... But not because they were doing fitness or aerobics, but because the padded clothes were fashionable. More pastel shades were preferred in makeup and hair ... A woman was considered sexy at the rate of her hair's swell.
Increasing diversity in the 1990s
It is not easy to say that there was a stereotypical sense of sex in the 1990s, but it can be said that a more minimalist style prevails. Women began to make 'sexy' combos with more casual clothes like jeans. It was also the effect of the rapid spread of the grunge cultures. On the other hand, the colorful and 'narrow' fashion of the 80's continued on the one hand, and it would not be wrong to say that the women who mix these two styles are perceived as 'sexy'.
From 2000's to today
Today, weakness, despite being criticized too much, is a sex appeal. It can be said that the women who are idealized as sexy of the 2000s are Victoria's Secret models. With that, they brought back the fancy 'wide hip' fashion like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. On the other hand, the point of plastic surgeon and the perception of beauty and sexiness created is discussed. Nevertheless, it is not wrong to say that you do not accept. Thick lip, expressionless face and raised, thin eyebrows are perceived as sexy by many men. In addition, the retro fashion is also quite common, reviving the perceptions of old beauty and sexiness.
