It's easy to get bogged down in the frustrations that life can throw at us from time to time, but then we get a reminder that we need to pause, and remind ourselves of the good things.
Today I had a rare day off from the day job where I had the day to myself. The plan was to run a couple of errands, then spend a chunk of the day reorganising the storage for my Bricklink Store.
Unfortunately the errands took longer than anticipated to complete, compounded by the fact I had to visit three different stores to find my preferred storage solution as the first two were sold out. I did get a bit sorted out, just not as much as I'd hoped.
Fast forward a few hours and I receive a message via that inferior social media platform run by that Zuckerberg guy, telling me that a friend and fellow member of our local LUG was in hospital.
Marc is a great guy, who could be forgiven for feeling that he'd been dealt a pretty shitty hand in the game of life, but he always has a smile on his face and is willing to help anyone.. He suffers from muscular dystrophy and had a fall today breaking his leg in a couple of places. He'll undergo surgery tomorrow to insert a titanium rod. He'll be laid up in hospital for the best part of six weeks. I'll pay him a visit in the next day or two (gotta get him a decent coffee and some Lego to keep his mind busy), but the news served as a reminder.
Don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't per the sweaty stuff.
