Total brain damage is a great example of us not being our brains.
Try this example,
If you had a parent with Alzheimer’s & they lost 95% of their functioning would you no longer consider them to be the same person who raised you? Or would you know they are the same person regardless of that faulty brain?
I’ve seen my dads brain functioning consistently decline for over a decade but he is not any less himself to me. We are not our brains, but they are very important for functioning
