Sometimes these two words seems to mean the same thing literarily. But i think every day every time they are not the same. Recently i had an argument with a friend about changing or stopping a habit.
He believes that when one stops a habit the person is a changed person. I told him that one can stop a habit but that does not necessarily mean the person is changed. I think stopping a habit somestimes is kinda taking a break. In one way or the other that habit is still in there. It only takes a flip or click for it to surface again. I've seen guys who's been doing some not pretty stuff and after some time they'd tell everyone they've stopped, only to go back again after some weeks or months. My point is this. For one to stop a character, you have to change first and that leads you to stopping a habit, and not just come out to say i've stopped thinking you've change. Besides change in everything is a gradual process. Learn to change first before you can stop.
