WHAT IS A ROADBLOCK?
A road block is an obstruction in a path or course which prevents pasage. Something that stands in the way of achievement. A block can be something solid that is used to hinder, impede, obstrucle. A common action, goal, plan, or purpose.
Have you ever felt like you were doing what God wanted you to do, but your plans were totally frustrated?
Joshua 7:7
Oh, Lord GOD," Joshua said, "why did You ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction? If only we had been content to remain on the other side of the Jordan!
The Lord had been with the people of Israel as they entered the promised land. They defeated every enemy because of God's blessing and protection. The next battle was the city of Ai. They were being routed by the enemy. Joshua cried out to God and could not understand why this was happening?
Joshua 7:10-12
The Lord said to Joshua, "Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12 That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.
Well, in God’s plan there is a way around every road block! Every hinderance, every interference, every obstacle has a way of escape.
God will sometimes position roadblocks in front of you that call for your immediate decision to stop or go in another direction. Some of the paths God will clearly mark out for you to follow, and others you'll have to choose direction according to what the Holy Spirit says.
Whenever we open ourselves up to sin, we become liable. God removes His protective shield from our lives in order for the sin in our lives to be purged out. He often uses the enemy of our souls to accomplish the task. He desires for His children to live in a right relationship with him. Maybe the road of life we're traveling seems off track from our desired destination. It may even look like we're going in the wrong direction. But, do not be concerned when God takes us on His detours because we will always arrive at the correct location.
