India is going to launch 1.24 Billion dollars Chandrayaan-2 mission. This will be ISRO's first ever inter-planetary mission in space to land a rover on the moon's south pole. Chandrayaan-2 is an extension to the Chandrayaan-1 mission in which ISRO spotted water on the surface of the moon on October 22nd, 2008.
Chandrayaan-2, the lunar mission under which the ISRO will for the first time attempt to land a rover on the moon's south pole, will be launched in April, Jitendra Singh, in-charge of the Department of Space said today.
According to ISRO, the targeted launch date for Chandrayaan-2 is April 2018, however, in case they missed the April date, due to any weather conditions then, mission launch will be postponed till November 2018. Moreover, the Chandrayaan-2 rover will land near the unexplored south pole of the moon. This side of the moon has oldest rock formations (millions of years old!!). This could surely help humans to understand the origin of the universe.
Key Points of Chandrayaan-2 Mission:
The mission will be India's first ever attempt to land a rover on Moon's south pole.
Possible launch -- April 2018
Launch Vehicle - GSLV-F10
Cost of mission - $1.24 Billion
Components of this mission
a) Orbiter - This will be launched into a 62 Mile lunar orbit
b) Lunar Lander - This will support descent, controlled landing of rover on the designated site area
c) Rover - Will collect samples of rocks and send pictures and important information related to the mission.

The mission, which would cost about ~800 crore, will be the first time India will attempt to land a rover on the moonβs south pole. βThe rover will land near an as-yet-unexplored south pole,β Isroβs new chairperson, K Sivan said to the reporters.
This mission is very critical from the future point of view as this will help ISRO to develop heavier lift launch vehicles, reusable vehicles (Just like Space X reusable booster rockets) and heavy platforms to support manned missions.
This all is so exciting, first space X and now ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 mission. There is a lot to explore in the mystery world of space. Missions like these will help us understand the secrets of Universe. I'm very hopeful that one day (maybe in my lifetime), we all be able to see our spaceships travel faster than the speed of light with the help of wormholes and using concepts of quantum physics, which are still unsolved.
This Tesla car will keep reminding us about the one big step we made. Mars! we are coming!
Can you believe that nearest galaxy to the milky way (our galaxy) is Andromeda galaxy, which at a distance of about 2.5 million light-years, with current space technology is still far from reach? Sometimes, solutions to most complex problems are the simplest once. I'm sure that soon we will be able to figure out that simpler solution to travel in space with the speed of light (or faster). We need more visionary people like Elon Musk, who can take the risk to discover the mysteries of the universe.

If we want to conduct intergalactic missions in future, then we need to solve four main puzzles -
- How to travel faster than light?
- Economical Fuel for spaceships?
- How to stay unaffected by Space radiation? (Most of the astronauts die because of cancer!!)
- Solving impact of aging in space (If we can stop aging then might be we can space travel forever to go and see distant places).
In conclusion, I just want to say that future is really bright. This is just the start of new era of space exploration. Space agencies like Nasa, Space X, and ISRO only bring healthy competition. We need to find other planets like earth in other galaxies and make human colonies there.
