It started late December 2016 when my mom spotted an article about "The Banting Lifestyle", then she told us about the benefits
and bam!! That next week our whole family was on a LHCF (Low Carb High Fat) banting lifestyle where all sugar was excluded from our daily lives. The first few weeks (2 weeks ) was the hardest because our bodies were not used to running on such low sugar intake foods and the cravings for something sweet was sooo bad but we soldiered on day by day. Eventually we had no more want for things like chocolates because they were simply too sweet and fruits became like a treat for us. In fact I got a stomach ache (almost hurled) after eating these supposed real foods from stores that are sugar infused to get you addicted to want more.
So how would I rate a banting lifestyle, 100% worth it . I personally lost 18 kgs (in 6-8 months) without breaking a sweat ( almost no exercising) and I always had so much more energy to tackle the day because my body learned to burn fat instead of sugar for long term energy, I also experienced no mood swing because of my hunger/energy levels.
Do be warned if you switch back to regular foods after banting your body will take some time to get used to.
