Today, for the first time in forever, I had a catchup sleep during the day.
Like most of us, I'm busy. Working. Walking the dog. Looking after my daughter - doing school drop off some days, pick up the rest.
Me-time is a rare commodity.
So rare, that when I have it I cherish it. I want to do things that I don't get to do during my ordinary days: play guitar; write stories and music and songs; have fun with my family; play boardgames; read...
But sometimes - very rarely - I go to sleep.
And wow did I need it.
Sometimes I feel I'm like a little kid - I get so tired I don't actually know I'm exhausted and making bad decisions, saying stupid things and being grumpy.
Research came out this week showing that weekend sleep-in's add years to the average life. So, note to self (and all of you): remember to take the opportunity to sleep - before you need to.
Just go with the guilty pleasure and live a little.
