When we look at life, we discover that everyone has problems. The thing is we have to struggle hard bearing our struggles in mind. However, there are some people who have found ways to manipulate their struggles in such a way that pity becomes a way to rise.
When the thought of money clouds one's principles and we use our personal struggles (problems) to attract the support of sympathizers, we stop being hustlers and dreamers, we instead become beggars with a keyboard.
So many people don't understand that it is technically begging through means such as omission of certain facts, manipulation or an outright lie.
At first, such tools will surely work and give you the false sense of undue advantage, but the thing about living a lie is that you have to cover your path with more lies and even bury it with that same lie.
When desperation rules one's heart, we often forget the thing called principles and rely more on manipulation.
What are our struggles? School fees? family burden and so on. I once met someone who told me that she was simply using what she had to get what she wants. Initially I thought she was cracking a joke until she got with a guy and was still flirting because the other man was in a position to provide for her excesses.
I also know of people who lie on the platform just to gain sympathy and promote the "struggle" but the thing is anything built on a lie can never last. Why tell lies as your selling point when the truth is even cheaper?
Sympathy sells your agenda well but the truth builds an everlasting bond called trust which makes you not to seem desperate over time.
Everyone has a story, you either use it to learn and build yourself or you can be a coward who uses it to gain sympathy to his/her advantage and become the pest later in future because when your selling point is a sob story, you become unnecessary weight at some point.
The story of an internet fraudster who was caught and asked why he did it in the first place, he said it was his condition that forced him to do what he was doing. What he didn't understand was he was also trying to put others in similar situations too. When we choose not to be defined by our struggle, we choose to become superior beings.
To choose to be pitied for what happened to you is not a pretty good choice, it makes you vulnerable even though it might give temporary rewards.
Like I said, the struggle should not define you, it should make you a better and stronger person.
