FOMO = Fear of missing opportunities

Skipping through the German steemit chat channel I found a recommended article posted by @robert.cobalus, written by a user named "DabangRacer" on reddit.
As I am always curious in peoples behavior my interest was caught. So thank you guys for this inspiration!

I actually lost my FOMO for quite some time now.
Some would even call me "phlegmatic" when it comes to money making chances. So I can consider myself happy that I am moving within a social system which "gives me eyes" and controls some of my actions and non actions. Otherwise I would be left abandoned and probably go back to cave times, strolling through a world having a much more simple lifestyle, I do lead now.
In a younger age I remember having this fear of missing Friday parties. Guess all of you know the feeling, being 18 and not knowing at nine in the evening how to get to the club or having overslept and finding oneself awake at three at night, totally missed to dress up and go out.
Imagine the catastrophe of a ten year old having missed his own birthday!! Like being teleported in a different time zone and appearing one day too late!
Missing the chance to trade money
and to make as much savings as possible: Where does that come from? I would not say, that it is only greed, for it is certainly the case at the first sight to assume that.
I like to state that we do that because we got independent from being in a clan or group or community driven people surrounding us.
We live in an externally supplied society and therefore like to have the illusion that we earn our "own money" or are responsible for "our own success" (we have no success, of course it is the other fault).
In doing so, we overlook the fact that nothing at all is being worked on by ourselves.
From getting up to going to bed, we are treated like babies with everything we can possibly need. With electricity, water, our roof over our heads, which we didn't build ourselves. The food is produced far away from our perceptions and then delivered to us directly at the doorstep (in supermarkets), our garbage is collected, our Internet is made available, our headache pills are tested in the laboratory and then delivered to pharmacies.
No one can pat themselves on the shoulders and say: "Look, I brought my business all by myself forward, I did this with my hands (or mind) work.
No, that's nonsense, of course. It's a huge, huge (!) collective effort, staged long before our time, long before we were born. Too complex for every individual to see through it.
For all these trillions of products and services, we need money to buy them. Some people mistakenly believe that the more money they have, the more independent they are. That's just as much - excuse me - nonsense, because with more money, one can only buy more things or be supplied by others.
On the contrary, more money automatically creates further dependencies. Why? I ask you to think about this question - and give me your answer in the comments:)
It is even the case if you want to invest this "more money": again in matter, because ultimately everything, even the virtual, is converted back into matter. I will make it short and say: If it were not so, then we would not be physical, but etheric beings and would not need a planet like the earth. But just float around in another kind of realm.
Also steemit is brought back to the material level - someday in time and space.
Hence: FOMO is really unnecessary. Take it easy.
But of course, there is nothing at all to be said against using a financial opportunity in passing by lightheartedly and converting it into a few (or more) numbers. Because it's just like that, and the time seems to be right, and someone else has just advised you to trust them. Without teeth grinding, and heart only beating a little faster but not much. Nothing life depends on.
You therefore shouldn't overdo it. We all shake our heads when we look at the hordes, who trample each other almost to death when they sell out in the department store. This is the visual extreme of FOMO.
We don't want that, right?
I therefore plead for RLX instead of FOMO ; -)

Beim Durchstöbern des deutschen Steemit-Chat-Chats fand ich einen empfohlenen Artikel von @robert.cobalus, geschrieben von einem User namens "DabangRacer" auf reddit.
Da ich immer neugierig in Bezug auf das Verhalten der Menschen bin, wurde mein Interesse geweckt. Also vielen Dank für diese Inspiration!

Ich habe mein FOMO schon seit geraumer Zeit verloren.
Manche würden mich sogar als "phlegmatisch" bezeichnen, wenn es darum geht, Geld zu verdienen. So kann ich mich glücklich schätzen, dass ich mich in einem Sozialsystem bewege, das mich beäugt und einige meiner Handlungen und Nichtaktionen kontrolliert. Sonst wäre ich verlassen und würde wahrscheinlich in die Steinzeit zurückkehren und durch eine Welt schlendern, die einen viel einfacheren Lebensstil bietet, als wie ich ihn jetzt führe.
Ich erinnere mich an Zeiten, da ich diese Angst hatte, Freitag-Partys zu verpassen. Schätze, die meisten von euch kennen das Gefühl, 18 zu sein und um neun Uhr abends nicht zu wissen, wie man in den Club kommt oder verschlafen hatte und sich um drei Uhr nachts wach fand, völlig verpasst, sich schick zu machen und auszugehen.
Stell dir nur die Katastrophe eines Zehnjährigen vor, der seinen eigenen Geburtstag nicht erlebt! Als ob man in eine andere Zeitzone teleportiert wird und einen Tag zu spät aufwacht!
Die Chance zu ergattern, Geld clever zu tauschen
und sich so viel wie möglich sichern zu wollen: Woher kommt das? Ich würde nicht sagen, dass es sich nur um Gier handelt, denn das ist sicher auf den ersten Blick, doch was kann es sonst noch sein?
Ich möchte behaupten, wir tun das, weil wir (scheinbar) unabhängig davon wurden, in einem Clan, einer Gruppe oder einer Gemeinschaft zu sein, die uns umgibt.
Wir leben derzeit in einer fremd versorgten Gesellschaft und hegen darum gerne die Illusion, dass wir unser "eigenes Geld" erwirtschaften oder für unseren Erfolg selbst verantwortlich sind (haben wir keinen Erfolg, sind natürlich die anderen Schuld).
Dabei übersehen wir, dass nichts, aber auch gar nichts von uns selbst erarbeitet wird.
Vom Aufstehen bis ins Bett gehen, werden wir quasi wie die Babys mit allem möglichen versorgt. Mit Strom, Wasser, unserem Dach überm Kopf, das wir gleichfalls nicht selbst gezimmert haben. Die Lebensmittel werden fern unserer Wahrnehmung erzeugt und uns dann direkt vor die Tür geliefert (in die Supermärkte), unser Müll wird abgeholt, unser Internet bereit gestellt, unsere Kopfschmerztabletten im Labor getestet und dann in die Apotheken geliefert.
Niemand kann sich auf die Schultern klopfen und sagen: Schau, mein Business hab ich ganz allein nach vorn gebracht, ich habe dies mit meiner Hände (oder Verstand) Arbeit geschafft.
Nein, das ist natürlich Unsinn. Eine unfassbare (!) kollektive Anstrengung, die lange vor unserer Zeit stattfand, lange bevor wir geboren wurden, ist für unsere heutige Situation mit verantwortlich. Zu komplex, um von jedem Einzelnen durchschaut zu werden.
Für alle diese Trillionen Produkte und Dienste brauchen wir Geld, damit wir sie kaufen können. Mancher meint irrtümlich, dass je mehr Geld er hat, umso unabhängiger sei er. Das ist genauso ein Quatsch - Verzeihung - denn mit mehr Geld kann sich einer lediglich mehr Dinge kaufen bzw. sich fremdversorgen lassen.
Im Gegenteil, mit mehr Geld schaffen sich ganz automatisch weitere Abhängigkeiten. Wieso? Über diese Frage bitte ich dich, nachzudenken - und mir in den Kommentaren deine Antwort darauf zu geben:)
Selbst dann, wenn man mit dem "mehr Geld" investieren will: wiederum in Materie, denn letztlich wird alles, selbst das Virtuelle, wieder in Materie umgewandelt. Ich mache es kurz und sage: Wäre es nicht so, dann wären wir keine physikalischen Lebewesen, sondern Ätherwesen und bräuchten keinen Planeten wie die Erde.
Auch steemit wird wieder in die materielle Ebene rückgeführt - irgendwann.
Daher: FOMO ist wirklich unnötig. Take it easy.
Aber es ist natürlich überhaupt nichts dagegen zu sagen, im Vorbeigehen eine finanzielle Chance zu nutzen und diese in ein paar (oder ein paar mehr) Zahlen umzuwandeln. Weil einem gerade danach ist und der Zeitpunkt günstig scheint und ein anderer gerade dazu geraten hat, dem man vertraut.
Man sollte es damit nur nicht übertreiben. Wir schütteln doch alle erhaben die Köpfe, wenn wir die Horden anschauen, die sich bei einem Ausverkauf in der Kaufhalle gegenseitig fast tot trampeln. Dies ist das visuelle Extrem von FOMO.
Ich plädiere daher für RLX anstatt FOMO ;-)
