I am daily impressed with the progress that the brave people of Burma (Myanmar) are making in fighting for their country with no assistance from the west.
I've been following https://www.irrawaddy.com and staying up on the latest reports on "the other war" that you're not hearing about from the western mainstream media.
As a result of a coup against the democratically-elected government in 2021, the populace has formed resistance groups known as PDFs (People's Defense Forces), which they are using to good effect in order to fight for their recently lost freedoms.

A Brotherhood Working Together for the People
They, along with the powerful rebel armies formed the Three Brotherhood Alliance consisting of the MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army), the Arakan Army and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army, combined with the PDFs to launch a War Against the Junta known as Operation 1027
A disparate collection of EAOs (Ethnic Armed Organizations) are now working together to defeat the military Junta that seized power from the elected civilian government. Facing indiscriminate airstrikes from a wounded foe, the people fight on to secure the liberty they worked so hard to attain.

Seeing how effective they are in fighting back with what little they have, one wonders what the NUG (National Unity Government) could do with just 10% of the funds we're spending on another country, in order to accelerate their fight for freedom.
They receive no weapons, intelligence-sharing, military trainers, or government funding from us. They have organized a bespoke defense and offense all on their own. Yet the people suffer greatly against the better-armed military government.
Junta troops torture and kill innocent villagers, torching homes with people inside. However, no matter what is thrown at them by an ever more desperate dictatorship, the people persist.
And with great sacrifices, they're winning.
I stand with the people of Burma, and wish them Godspeed on their march to victory. They deserve a government where the people (and not the military), decide the future of a country that I love.
