Wanna go to a movie in a spur of a moment and don’t have anyone to go with? Go alone! Just do it! It’s not like you can talk with your friend when you are watching a movie. Or if you do, you are a fucking asshole and should go home to watch the movie if you want to chat while watching it.
I’ve wanted to see the Ocean’s 8 for a while now, mainly because I’m fangirling Rihanna. I was just hanging out at home alone, like I always do, and felt like I should leave the apartment every once in a while. Going to a movie alone is my way of acting like I’ve done something social and normal. Though I don’t think I’m fooling anyone...
Most of the time I really do not want to be with anyone, I’d rather spend time by myself. Sure I feel lonely at times, and would like to have a partner to share some things with, and cuddle, but most of the time, I’m fine alone.
I’d rather feel a little lonely than have meaningless fake friendships that don’t really give me anything, but more so drain my energy. Sure I can go out at times and have fun, but it’s always a risk. Quite often I feel like I need to fake interest and I’d rather be at home doing something than having a coffee with a friend. Of course there are the rare occasions when I have a lot of fun and don’t want it to end, but like said, it’s rare. The odds are not in my favour, so I tend to entertain myself alone.
Today I let a movie entertain me, because even though I watch movies and series all the time at home, it’s a different experience going to the movie theather to see something. I have a tendency to multitask a lot at home, so I’m not really paying full attention to the movie. When there is something I think might be really good, I go to see it in a theater so I’m kind of forcing myself to really pay attention and appreciate the movie.
A few words about the movie itself, it was a basic Ocean’s heist movie, but with a gorgeous female cast. Nothing too spectacular plot wise, but I liked it. The events happened in a Met Gala, so a lot of fashion was incorporated to the movie, and that I like. The movie is definitely directed more for the female audience with a lot of female empowerment elements, but I think it wasn’t too feministic and was quite sexy in parts.
