I was going to title this post 'after nearly a month MIA', but then I checked my post history and I am truly shocked to see I haven't posted in 2 months. It has been a strange time for me in real life, I don't want to get into it too much (I am not ready yet). For the most part I have shut myself off from the world, and that includes steemit.
The thing I enjoyed most about steemit was writing up my 'Cool moments in History' but looking back I think I was putting too much pressure on myself to write 2-3 a week. So from now on I will be much easier on myself, in my writing schedule and in the rest of my life. My goal is to write up an article when the mood strikes me and nothing more.
I was going to hold off writing this until I had a new post ready but it feels too good to get it off my chest now, so instead of a new post I will link to a few of my old favourites and if you like what you read feel free to subscribe for more of the same.
Best of the meh
My favourite article, while probably the least successful was this story about how a lie about carrots helped win World War 2.
A bit macabre and maybe more interesting than cool was this story about Stalin the practical joker.
My first 'Cool moments in History' was about Micheal Collins a Irish revolutionary hero and his lucky escape.
This story about the Prussian army helping to defeat Napoleon was one of my favorite while also, in my opinion, being my worse article. It is a favourite because of how much I enjoyed researching it, but I don't feel I did the material justice and the article is maybe a bit dry.
