My dearest wife has been unfortunately dealing with epilepsy for years now. No one really knows the cause of her condition. Which is undeniably frustrating. But she is probably the strongest person I have had the pleasure of knowing.
Before I met her I heard of epilepsy but did not know all the difficulties that haunt the person with said condition.
Epilepsy is a condition of the brain where the nerve cell activity gets disturbed. There are many facters that can cause this. Brain trauma, drug use, disease, etc...
I will always remember the first time i witnessed my wife having a Grand Maul seizer. It was about two months after our son Drystan was born. We were in bed sleeping, and all of a sudden I felt the bed shaking and heard this god awfull noise comming from her. I shot out of bed turned the light on and looked over at her. And what I seen I will never forget. I thought she was dying. She was convulsing and schreeching, with blood coming out of her mouth. At the time i freaked out not knowing what to do or what was happening. But then I relized she was having a seizer and she had bitten her tounge. After a few minutes the convulsions stopped and all was well. That was the first but not the last that I have seen.
After that night I have witnessed more then I can remember. Though I knew what to do now it never got easy helping her. There is also a ton of side affects that plague as well. Deppresion, axiety, confussion etc... non of which are easy to deal with. And to be honest with you there was a few times I almost lost all will and wanted to not deal with it anymore. But I stuck in there and kept on fighting with her. Not only is she my partner in crime but also my best friend. She has now been seizer free for two years now. I love you @rockchickjen!
