I start by saying People tell me things they shouldn't tell a soul. I'm in a shuttle for work that's sourced through a company and it's a new person every time I meet this lady and she immediately proceeds to say " you are a part of the shittiest generation to walk the earth" talking about us millenials and I say why is that. She tells me she has this daughter she's 25 the same age as me and she has a bunch of face tattoos and can't get a job and I'm left to raise her two daughters. I say "that's pretty shitty she sounds terrible" and this was all news to me I didn't know abandoning your children was a generation issue but what do I know. She then thinks she proving her point more when she says " I have another daughter she's 21 she's constantly fighting with her baby daddy and wants a ticket to anywhere to start a life with nothing set up" and by now I'm starting to see a pattern and reply" yeah they sound pretty terrible" and I thought we would leave it at that but she gives me the prize gem. She proceeds to tell me " I have this son I'm lucky if he graduates high school" and I'm thinking well this kid has a chance and I reply" oh that's good how old is he". No shit she says 20 years old and on the inside I'm loosing my shit when I ask "what happened there". She comes up and says he dropped out of homeschooling in the 9th grade. How the fuck do you DROP OUT OF HOMESCHOOLING your mom is your fucking teacher are you just like yeah I'm not doing that work and that's just fine. She then has the nerve to tell me about how he dropped out to help raise his sisters kids. I'm thinking at this point this is a novel kid drops out to support his family this is a great kid I change my tone and ask " Oh where does he work" she says " Oh he can't work he has social anxiety" WTF is going on here he has no school supposedly can't work because he doesn't like people like no shit nobody does you still have to work that's life. Just when I think it doesn't get worse she says" if he wants a video game I just make him write a two page paper so it works out". How the hell is this working out writing a paper to get whatever you want is not working out. I could not believe the lack of responsibility this lady takes for her own kids it must be really nice to blame a whole generation for being a shitty parent. And a disclaimer I'm not saying good parents don't have a bad apple but good parents don't have three shitbag kids. In conclusion I wish I could have made this up and apparently I'm in a generation that abandons children can't have a relationship and can't work because of social anxiety, I thought we were known for being online and tweeting but I sure and glad for the lesson this terrible parent taught me
